SUNSHINE ON WINTER STREET

2022

Sunshine on Winter Street is a 2.5 metre diameter, wall-based relief sculpture.

Made in Sheffield by regular project partners, Steel Line. The sculpture is made up of 69 angular polished stainless steel ‘tiles’, mounted to a stainless steel frame. Each colour (25 in total) was produced by abstracting a NASA image of our burning sun.

Designed to add an element of warmth and humour to the location, the sculpture is a simple and playful riff on the location of Winter Street. It is intended to brighten even the greyest day and hopefully raise a smile.
